Shorty's, baby! Down in Belltown. Messy, wonderful hot dogs with neon relish, cheap beer, and a whole pinball room in the back. You gotta love it.

Full Tilt in White Center. Pinball, classic video games, awesome homemade ice cream (Maker's Mark, if you're lucky), beer, sometimes live music, super-friendly staff. It's one of my favorite places in the city.

Plus, you'll be in White Center, so if you find yourself with a sudden, overwhelming need for porn, tacos, a new hoe from McLendon's or a stiff drink, it's all at your fingertips.

Who could ask for anything more?

Used to be (years ago) the laundry on 12th in the ground floor of the storage place across from lucky devil tattoo. They had a "Tommy" pinball machine there.

That, and the arcade we had for a while on Pike: High Score.

It totally depends on what "best" is to you.

    - What types of pins do you prefer playing? Classics like Medieval Madness, old skool electro-mechanical ones, newer games like CSI?

    - What time of atmosphere do you want to play in? A loud bar? A corner of laundromat? A small arcade filled mostly with college students?

    - Is price a factor? Do you mind if games are 75 cents apiece?

    - How important is the quality of the machine? If the place is perfect but the machine has a few switches out and it's not in the best shape, would you mind?

    - Do you prefer a place that has just one or two pins (that you really like) or a place with a half-dozen or more so-so machine?

    - Do you want to play at certain hours? Do you prefer a certain geographical area of Seattle?

These are just a few of the many questions to consider when playing pinball in Seattle.
