gate-keepers/taste-makers - are there any agents that change your interests/preferences

Not that I'm about to start a white boy hip hop group to fit in or anything (though I will fuck your cypher up)....

Obviously, certain things are "in" sometimes, and some things will always be awesome, like punk rock.
It seems like Seattle is partially hip to psychedelic rock revival at the moment.

The oughts were kinda "meh", so what's good in the teens? Are we circling back 30 years to 80s music? (isn't yacht rock revival so 2007..?)

Jay-Z just killed auto-tune like last year... What's left? Finite sponsorship rock? ..yum.......

    Many interesting musical developments occur when people blend unexpected styles into new syntheses. Try to conjure a new genre from seemingly incongruous elements. I can't speak for anybody else, but I will pay close attention. Once you gain my favor, immortality—if not fame, fortune, and a phalanx of groupies—is yours.
