Would you move to Seattle from San Francisco?

Knowing what you know about Seattle, would you move there from San Francisco? In other words, all things being equal, which city would you prefer to live in?

I've never lived in San Francisco, but I have lived in Seattle, so I might be biased. Plus I've only just briefly been in SF. SF seems quite beautiful and awesome, but things do seem a bit smashed together there (housing and such). I really don't know how people afford to live there! Are there better and/or more jobs in SF???

I've been told the weather in SF depends on exactly where you are, but that it is fairly mild with some sun...more sun than Seattle.

Having grown up in the Pacific NW I have to admit that I like rain and am confused by places where it doesn't rain a lot. So, I guess you'd have to consider if you like living where it rains a bit.

Seattle is a beautiful city. It is getting more expensive of course, but waking up on a crisp Spring day and being able to see the Sound and feel the breezes...well, it is hard to beat that.

I would probably pick Seattle, but it all depends on what you like in a city. Maybe you could tell us what sort of things you like about one or the other cities and we could tell you what it is like in Seattle???

God I love SF but Seattle is a more livable city. I will get a place there when I win the lotto but won't give up my yard here.

The problem is that all things aren't equal. SF is the greatest city in America, but also the most expensive. Great weather (compared to here), great art, great neighborhoods, eminently walkable, great transit, great parks, the ocean, Marin ten minutes away, etc, etc, etc. But I could never live there because it's so fucking expensive. Also, it's got a serious inferiority complex to LA, which is funny since as far as I can tell Angelinos don't even know that SF exists.

Seattle meanwhile does its own thing and doesn't give a fuck if anyone anywhere cares, or puts us on any "Top 10" lists, or whatever. SF is amazing but Seattle fits like a well worn leather jacket.

San Francisco, but only if I had a hell of a lot more money...I'm too old to share a studio apartment in the Tenderloin.
