  3 0 what do they look like while they are dying? if they go pale, they're getting too much sun. if they go brown and squishy at the base, too much water. white dust? maybe spider mites. It sounds like these are majesty palms (the fans). I had some trouble getting enough light for mine, offices have 24hr light. consider getting a different potted plant that is a little more forgiving. i suggest cornstalk plants aka cane palms. they WONT DIE. sallybobally answered in Whatever about 1 year ago | Report 3 comments by Geni, sallybobally, and O my captain… 0 0 They were brown, but not squishy at the base. Not pale. They get lots of sun - I wonder if it was actually the excessive heat last summer - remember when it was so hot? - that killed 'em? Spider mites are a distinct possibility. (im not in seattle, but i cant imagine that place being dry, somehow) if you have spidermites, there will be fuzzy white stuff on the plant. try spraying it with some Neem spray (lightly, over do it and youll burn your leaves) and offer the plants some treats. leftover pasta water, epsom salt or coffee grounds will help. water and only re-water when soil goes dry. youd be surprised how often you kill plants by fiddling with them too much though sallybobally commented about 1 year ago | Report 0 0 Could they be pot-bound?
