What are some good tunes to have sex to?

Portishead and Nick Cave are always nice. NIN and Massive Attack have worked on occasion. Barry White isn't really my thing. What songs should we fuck to?

I'm a big fan of no music at all, honestly. One of the things that turns me on the most is hearing the little things during sex - when a woman gasps, when she exhales, small moans, the slight catching of the breath when something really feels good. I used to try sex with music playing, and I still do if my partner really wants it to feel comfortable, but I would suggest trying it without any music at all, just listen to every single sound your partner makes.

Also, I apologize for this potentially sounding corney, but fuck it, its true enough, music is just a distraction from your partner.

I haven't used music with sex in a few years, but back when I wanted to shield my roommates I used:

    Morcheeba

    Four Tet

    Cowboy Junkies

    Air

    Propellerheads

    Supreme Beings of Leisure

    Amon Tobin

But really I'm with Basil. The slight sounds during sex are the best ones: the toes in the sheets, the hair on the bedframe, not to mention the moans, grunts, gasps, random garbled words, whispers, and so on.

Music should only be used when necessary. Music as a standard accompaniment of sex screams wannabe playa.

"Miracles" by Marty Balin of Jefferson Starship.

The hottest, most graphic description of sexual longing, passion, and desire to make a relationship work out ever recorded. Makes me cry everytime I hear it, thinking about my relationship at the time that failed.

I have always thought that "I Want You" by Marvin Gaye and performed by Gato Barbieri has got to be the biggest turn on ever....

Maybe something mellow or jazz or country music...just loud enough to be a background music...like its coming from another room.

Nothing, if you're my husband. He finds it too distracting. :-( For me, reggae always was great (da riddim, mon, da riddim!), and Santana's Abraxas is still an aphrodisiac (Samba Pa Ti is my single favorite tune to get busy to).

Thievery Corporation is good rhythmic ambient background. Instrumentals in general (lyrics are so distracting sometimes). 'Saudade' by Love and Rockets is an atmospheric gem. Arvo Part's 'Spiegel im spiegel' is sweet and openly airy, nice for tender lovemaking. Ministry's second album "Twitch", or Front242 if yr gettin srsly kinky...

I'm a fan of SomaFM's Drone Zone for a bunch of things. It's just ambient and is basically white noise in music form. It's nice for sex because if you are aurally stimulated it doesn't really get in the way of listening to your lover and yourself and you can fall asleep to it if you are totally zapped by the end of sexytime.

I probably shouldn't answer this question mostly because I haven't had sex to music in so long that I can not really think of any good answers. But I've thought of the song Some velvet morning by Primal Scream before as being at least pretty sexy.
