Regarding SLOG's automatic "unregistered comments off" option

I read SLOG on several different computers. While the unregistered comments are automatically off now, per the wizardry of their webmasters, they are still visible when I use my Dell laptop that runs Windows Vista, even though the "OFF" option is set. This is annoying because I have to click the box twice (turn them ON, then OFF) to hide unregistered comments, and even worse, I have to do this EVERY TIME I open a comments page. This does not happen when I use my Mac or my work computer which runs Linux. Is this a problem with Windows?

My "Registered Commenter Filter" is actually opening up the anonymous comments. They might have changed how the anonymous comments are displayed, and it doesn't know how to skip over them anymore.

If you're using that script, I bet that's the problem. Disable Greasemonkey and refresh the page to confirm it.

I'll try to look at it soon and put out a new version. If you have version 1.1.x it will auto-update when I release a new version.

As Geni said, though, in the meantime you can install the "Anonymous Comment Filter" that I made before The Stranger added those controls. It does hide the comments completely, though.

Firefox on Windows 7 gave me the same symptom - had to keep clicking ON and OFF to get the comments hidden. The Greasemonkey unregistered commenter filter for Firefox that Jon wrote, on the other hand, works like a champ.

(Install Greasemonkey first, then install the script.)

Could it be your browser? I use Windows XP with Firefox and/or Chrome and I haven't had this problem.
