How to get to the airport at 4:30 am?

...For an international flight at 7am. This was dumb planning on my part, I know, but it's done and now I'm stuck with it.

What do you recommend? I'm coming from the Greenlake area. I have a feeling that it's gonna be a taxi. *Sigh*

Shuttle Express can probably get you there for around $25, maybe (http://www.shuttleexpress.com/). That's what I do.

Or if you can get a ride to the downtown area, you can take Sound Transit to Sea-Tac for $2.50. The first train won't leave until 5:00 AM and it gets to the airport at 5:45 AM...might be cutting it a bit close.

    Schedule is here: http://www.soundtransit.org/Documents/pdf/riding/CentralLinkTimepointsJun10.pdf

A night owl route on Metro would be your cheapest option: http://metro.kingcounty.gov/tops/bus/schedules/s082_0_.html

Looks like you can catch the 82 around Greenlake at about 2:30 am.

Then if you miss the bus you can call a taxi. From Ballard to Sea-Tac a taxi is around $60, so probably more from Greenlake, although getting to shoot most of the way on a deserted Aurora might actually negate the extra distance.

There's a Holiday Inn right next to the airport with a free 24/7 shuttle service to the terminal. I've used that before and found it a nice way to begin an early-morning international flight: I've already packed and ready to go and can't do any last-minute dithering.

Barring that, got anyone you could blackmail for a ride? At least there's no traffic.

I guess I like to live on the edge, because, since the first flight is domestic, I'd just take light rail and get there at 5:45, especially if I had an e-ticket and knew that I'm not on the no-fly list.

I've made the mistake of following the recommendations for showing up early and paid for it by being bored out of my gourd for two hours sitting at the gate.
