  6 0 what log cabin republicans are is regular republicans with dicks in their mouths: greedy and stupid and cowardly. they believe that republicans have money and power, liberals are smelly hippies. they'd rather be suck-ups to the bullies than be bullied. so they try to make a silk purse out of an asses ear, and sell us all to the dogs while doing it. log cabin republicans are self-castrating beggars at their own demise.that's what i think. and thank you.   3 0 gay BMW-driving yuppies gotta vote, too, man. Sometimes people vote on issues, and sometimes they rank those issues with something other than civil rights at the top of the list. In fact, if US history speaks to anything, it's that we tend to hardly ever vote with civil rights and social equality foremost in our voting hearts. IMO, historically, the US tends to vote wallet first, & either quasi-imperialism or 'please the womenfolk' second.   1 0 At its heart, I think the GOP (before the Tea Party got a hold of it, anyway) is about preservation of wealth. Rich people don't get rich by giving their money away, and they're very, very afraid that the government is trying to take it. They have plenty of non-rich people convinced that the government is trying to steal their money, too, but that's actually more true under Republicans (Reaganomics, anyone?) than under Democrats.   1 0 The gist of their platform doesn't really promote gay rights to the Republican party, though they are anti-DADT and opposed to any constitutional amendment banning gay marriage. Instead, their purpose seems to be promoting small government and other conservative viewpoints to the gays. By conservative, I presume it's the fiscal variety, not the Bible-thumping variety.
