How's your handshake?

In my somewhat limited experience, I have found gay men to have rather wimpy, flacid handshakes. Do gay men greet each other (when first introduced)with a handshake? Do you find this to be true as well? I am a woman, so do you think they are just being careful of my hand? Lots of related questions I know, but please pass the word that limpness is (also)never pleasant in a handshake.

My handshake is firm enough to equal the iron grip of many a straight guy who has attempted to prove his masculinity by trying to crush my hand. It is an amusing and unspoken ritual that actually happens frequently. The best part is the look in his eye as I crush his hand back, while smiling.

Speaking in broad generalizations, gay men are very polite and it is an old fashioned tradition to gently grasp the hand of a woman and save the firm grip for a man. I have met very few gay men who have anything less than a firm handshake when socially appropriate.

Apparently you have never been to middle school, which explains why you are unaware of the fact that the complete lack of wrist muscles is the primary defining characteristic of gay males. As a by-the-by point, did you know they stick it in each other's butts? EWWW!!! That said, you write English very well for a fifth grader (aside from misspelling "flaccid").

In any event, if you've only met effeminate gay men, you haven't met very many men who (you realize) are gay.

in fact, i am quite proud of my very firm and manly handshake. but to tell you the god's honest: i almost never shake hands with other gay men. i'm a revolting and irrepressible hugger. people, the air, trees...it's revolting. ask anyone.

My hand shakes brings people to their knees..to their knees and forces them to open the fly on my jeans for a big surprise.

A: Firm, brief and ambitious, thankyouverymuch.

yes, men -gay, bi, or otherwise- who shake your hand are just being careful with your hand *OR* not trying to impress you (read: get in your pants)
