Do you attend Pride?

I am noticing a trend among the heterofabulous Q-land regulars that folks seem very familiar with the parade and fete. Are you regular attenders or what?

I have missed only one Pride parade in the last 15 years or so. I've marched in about six of them, which is kind of a pain, because you miss all the cool floats and stuff, unless you mill around a lot in the assembly area before the parade starts.

I used to go watch the parade every year when it and I lived on the Hill, but no more. Old, boring, no parking, you know the drill.

I've been to the last two and enjoy it if just for the celebratory atmosphere. To be sure, some of the marchers are entertaining, but the real draw for me is just being out and about amongst so many happy people.

I'll probably go this year, two, and just read a book between awesome floats :p

I am a hetero male and I attended my first pride parade last weekend in Denver. Having never been to the Seattle parade/festival, I cannot comment on its awesomeness. But I would absolutely attend Denver's again.

It was the most fun/friendly/overall positive gathering of 275,000 people I have ever seen. I did not see a single negative interaction. It is a celebration of people loving people.

    AWESOME!

The 9 to 12 person group I went with (to most but not all of the last 16 or so Pride Parades) included 3 straights in addition to us bi/Q folk and the 2 - 4 gay boys and the token lesbian couple. We (queers and heteros) marched in it too for 2 years (1997,1998) but prefer hooting and hollering and catching swag from the sidelines.

But, in answer to your Q, while their PFLAG memberships may have expired, the straight kids are all still with us during pride; one of them even has 2 little children now, and they have a blast.
Agree with fnarf; less likely to go as we get older - the group is down to about 7 or 8 adults now (for many reasons).
