Informal poll: Did you cry at The Notebook?

Short answer is "duh," but I was just talking to a coworker who says she never, ever cries at movies, and doesn't think The Notebook would be the exception. I watched it on TV yesterday (for only the second time ever, it's not my favorite or anything), fully knowing it would make me cry, but not caring. My boyfriend was very understanding when I tearfully interrupted his video game because I needed a hug.

Nope. Rented it right after it got released and sat down with a lady friend to watch it and wasn't even trying to be an a-hole about it but within like two minutes we jokingly predicted the whole plot of the movie then both looking at eachother simultaneously realized that was exactly what the movie was gunna be and decided to turn it off and watch Wet Hot American Summer instead. Plus the seaguls were CGI for christsake.
The movie that gets me all teary-eyed is Nights of Cabiria specificaly the scene where Giulietta goes into the theater and gets hypnotized and the audience hushes up. Ohh no I'm getting myself all ferklemped.

Nope, and I'm a blubbering fool. I thought what was going on in the nursing home was the most effecting, but it was also obvious what was going on. The love story was too mediocre for my taste, and ironically, since they're a couple in real life, I didn't think Goslin/McAdams had much on-screen chemistry.

Sobbed like a baby. Have never cried that hard in a movie ever. Was really embarrassed until I noticed everyone else seemed to have the same problem, except for a couple of heartless douches.

Also, I don't really cry in movies. Except for pretty much all of them.

Only a little. I saw it with two other girls, and they were SOBBING. I just got a little ::cough:: dust in my eyes.

I cried, but I cry during some commercials, so I may not be an adequate gage.

For what it's worth...when the movie was first released, many of my psychotherapy clients used it to describe the kind of devotion that they would like to have in a relationship. Many of them cried while talking about that; can't say if the movie itself hit that button; my guess would be it did.

I cry at *my* notebook. Every time it tries to run that fucking acrobat updater.... gah!

I did not see "The Notebook," because I am not a chick and my wife by and large does not make me watch chick flicks, but rather saves them up for when she and my daughter are home and my son and I are off climbing some mountain somewhere.

No. I didn't even go see it.
    Did you?

I always cry when I watch "Grand Canyon" and "Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Kahn".

I've never seen it...and can't remember what it is supposed to be about.

I will tell you though, that I cry sometimes when watching Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. I know, I know, but I tell you...it is so touching!!! And, sometimes I don't just cry, but I bawl like a baby! Oh, and that scene in Schindler's List when Schindler has to escape, because the war is over and he says: my ring, my watch...I could have gotten another 2 maybe 3 people...oy I cry my eyes out !!!

    Ooops. sorry tangent!!! AHHHHH!
