Do those apartment finders people doo any good work?

I want to move to either Cap Hill, LQA, or West Seattle and going through pages and pages of spam is starting to drain me. I have very limited time to deal with the work so I was thinking about using "apartment finders" or some other service like it. Anybody use something like this b4? Good or bad times?

Hi, I actually worked in property management for over a year. I managed a 92 unit complex in Belltown. My experience with Apartment finders is that...well...its a waste of money. If I were you, I would simply look on Craigslist or drive around Capitol Hill. There are TONS of FOR RENT signs in cap hill right now. ( I know this because I live in Cap Hill now--I see them everyday).

Honestly, when looking for apartments in the Seattle area (WS, LQA or Cap HIll)--nothing beats craigslist.

Anyhow, good luck with the search.

I've found every place I've lived (since moving out of my mom's house) on Craigslist. No other websites have as many listings. It takes work to search through them, but I can't imagine anyone else being better at finding the right place for you than you.

    Have you checked out HousingMaps?

    http://www.housingmaps.com/?c=seattle&t=apa&p=750_1250

It's really handy... It puts the apartment listings from Craigslist on a Google map.

There is one, specifically that posts on Craigslist in the Seattle area that's had numerous complaints filed with the Better Business Bureau. I can't recall the name, I just know that I found many CL ads when I was looking for a place (about a year ago) that had the same phone number . . . point being LOOK THEM UP if you're thinking of using one of these services. Personally, it seems like a waste of money.

Also, never rent from David Youngblood with Gibraltar Property Mgmt. After our experiences with him, I would never rent from Gibraltar, period. Had GREAT experiences with Samaras Associates, especially John Yeung (I probably spelled his surname wrong, his office is in Lynnwood, but he rents all over the city and is professional and timely.)

Be careful of a landlord named Shahab (AKA Shawn) Khademi. He owns a lot of property in Seattle and is a really skeezy guy. Rent at your own risk.
