If you mean writing reviews, that's a tough one. You've got to write a whole bunch of unpaid ones for free newspapers and such first, gather the clippings (the published reviews), and submit proposals to the places you'd like your stuff published in. Go to a big bookstore's writing section, and look up books like "How to Write Magazine Articles." See also the most recent "Writer's Digest" (a large reference book, updated each year) for information about which magazine is looking for articles and reviews. I make money writing about music because I started small (free articles), and now I write books about music and make decent royalties. However, I have a day job and I always will (until I formally retire), because you can't trust the buying habits of anyone, including publishers.
