Where are some good places to stay on the peninsula, if you want to be near easy to moderate hikes?

A plus if it's also not far from the ocean!

Of course our National Park lodges are always a good choice to be "in nature" on the Peninsula. Lake Crescent Lodge, Lake Quinault and Kalaloch are rustic and charming. For something right on the beach, check out the Quileute Oceanside Resort that offers luxury beachfront cabins with jetted tubs, decks, fireplaces and full kitchens. Located in La Push, right on the beach - this is a great jumping off point for Second and Third Beach hikes, not to mention just a short drive to the Hoh Rain Forest! www.quileuteoceanside.com

I've stayed at the Quillayute River Resort, just outside of Forks. It's right on the river, and quite lovely. I think the rates might be slightly lower than Quileute Oceanside Resort, and it's also a bit more private. The suites are cute and comfortable, and they have kitchenettes. The couple who own it are super nice and live on site.
