Turn-Around time when asking Dan Savage a question?

I sent an email/question to Dan a couple of weeks ago; standard email, not my iTouch app...I wasn't about to type that much with my thumbs. I haven't heard back. So, should I assume that it will not be answered for some reason?

Thanks!

Months sometimes, as he's admitted in his column.

Besides, as an editor AND as a writer trying to make a living, he's likely choosing based on best-for-publication, so if there's hundreds of submissions, there's a good chance your letter will not get answered in print at all.

Best to wait for a Questionland feature, and ask it there, I think that's the highest % respond rate he has, I've asked a few via e-mail with no response and only one there and got a response.

They do it every couple of months, just keep your eyes peeled, I think they'll announce it a week or so before he does it. You will be able to ask it here: http://questionland.com/users/6362-dan-savage

    Good luck!

If this was 15 years ago I would say your chances of getting a reponse of some form from Dan would be pretty good, or at least above average.

But you need to face it, Dan is a semi-celebrity figure. And as Rev. Smith mentioned he probably is looking for items that are "marketable" for what is his brand. Plus, Dan has mentioned he gets untold numbers of e-mails, letters etc. and he can't get to all of them to even read let alone respond.

So stop holding your breath for Dan's personal reponse.

Turnaround time depends on if Dan is bending over and taking one or not ......
