    Assuming you're any good and you're certified in more than one industry leading group...

    Glom onto a gym in some PT job, tell everyone how they're not doing it right, and then steal a bunch of clients from your hosting gym and leave.

    Also: post flyers on community boards and telephone poles. Get yourself reviewed on Yelp and pay extra for the premium account. Give your first few clients 'x' free months for referring 'y' number of clients to you.

    That's how it's done.

    Technique is crucial.
    Make sure that the initial consultation is fun for all or both involved.
    Maybe, turning a client into the trainer or vice versa by paying for a 3 month membership would be the "faith based" answer regretablly.
