can't remember the name of this movie

it's an independent film, about a guy who never got over his dad's death - I think in a fire? and his best friend is an architect, I believe - and the guy always wears his dad's glasses? Hm - there is a part where I believe they make a city out of cardboard in their brownstone.

anyone?

    The only movie I can think of where a guy wears his dead father's glasses is The Darjeeling Limited. Could that be it?
