What to make with Dolin Blanc

I have found myself with an excess of Dolin Blanc vermouth. Not a bad thing - but it won't last forever. I usually just mix ith with soda and a lime, but want to incorporate it into some cocktails. Any recommendations?

The blanc is my favorite of the three Dolin vermouths.

I enjoy using it in a martini. I go old school with 2:1 gin:vermouth, with a couple dashes of orange bitters, stirred until super cold, garnish with a lemon twist.

Like Stevi, I've been using Dolin blanc in a lot of martini variations, with a 2:1 ratio and an added barspoon of Ingredient X -- this is usually any well-loved (or under-loved) liqueur in the liquor cabinet that I'm curious to try on such an appealing stage. Wins to date: apricot liqueur, Herbsaint.

I also made up a batch of Dolin blanc por Mi Amante earlier this summer -- just filled a jar 3/4 full with quartered strawberries, covered with the vermouth and let it rest in the fridge for 3 weeks before straining. Mix that 1:1 with a good savory gin (Martin Miller's Westbourne is excellent), and you're in business.

Or, y'know, Dolin blanc just rocks all on its own in a wine glass while you're fixing dinner. That's where most of mine goes, come to think of it.

Dolin Blanc is fantastic – I love to just drink it with soda too. If you are a gin drinker a delicious sounding drink that is very seasonal right now could be something like the following – just experiment

Tear a few mint sprigs and add along with a ¼ of a ripe juicy peach to a cocktail shaker. Muddle well. Add in 1 ½ oz gin (Old Tom Ransom from Oregon is amazing!), ½ - ¾ oz Dolin Blanc Vermouth and a few dashes of bitters-Peychaud’s might be nice.

Fill shaker with ice. Shake very hard. Add a splash of soda to drink and then strain into a martini glass. Garnish with a mint leaf.

nother idea is to make a summery iced granite – look up a wine granite and try making it with the Dolan Vermouth - Enjoy
