What shouldn't I miss when visiting Miami?

Going for the first time Labor Day weekend (never even been to Florida) with two girl friends. Staying in South Beach and have pretty much zero idea of what shouldn't be missed. Any bar/restaurant/activity/shopping recommendations? Thanks!

    I loved Parrot Jungle, myself. It's touristy, of course, but the birds are still amazing, and it's also not at all a bad place to hang out and spend a day.
