How much does smell does Kombacha eminate if made inside house?

Thinking of making Kombacha in a open glass jar in a small office in our house. How strong smell does it give off? Would you make it in a room you use a lot?

Not that much, < brewing beer or using herbs and spices for cooking. I once had a roommate who made it in one of the main rooms of the house and it was never an issue. A good 'buch should only have a small percentage of ethyl alcohol (alcohol) and acetic acid (vinegar) as the smelliest components.
I've heard complaints about the foul smell of kombucha brewing but I suspect that it comes from neglected cultures and the resulting overabundance of acetic acid and possibly formation of valeric acid (valerian, feet, rotting, death, sweet sweet freedom from this mortal coil) oh wait, what? where was I?
Oh yeah- unless you're making commercial sized batches or you're really sensitive to smell, if you stay on top of your cultures it should be fine.

When I make it I don't smell it unless I'm actually standing right over it.
