  1 0 As someone who worked in libraries for years as an assistant and almost completed an MLIS, let me tell you that a degree in Library science is worth about four days of shadowing a librarian at work. The Masters of Library Science Degree is one of many professional degrees which exists to extract money from aspiring professionals and give those degree recipients a reason to demand more money in compensation.
