Should I take my wife up on her offer for me to seek sex outside the relationship?

We're in our early 40's, and the sex has dwindled down to once every 4-6 weeks. We've discussed it often over the years, and she insists that the problem isn't loss of desire for me, just for sex in general. She's offered to let me seek sex outside the relationship, but I don't want to screw up an otherwise fantastic relationship. How do I navigate these waters?
