  1 1 What inspection? It's exempt from emissions and last time I checked that's the only inspection Washington has. This ain't Massachusetts! Unless you've got limited parking and/or jerk-ass neighbors who'll hassle you about the eyesore parked on the street, just register the thing, wash it and make sure the tires are filled up and work on it on the street. Technically you're not supposed to have a non-functioning car parked on the street, but unless someone is out to get you or if it's obviously non-functional it usually isn't enforced. You're not supposed to work on your car in any storage place I'm aware of (the insurance issues alone rule it out), but you might be able to get away with it if it's not a place that has someone on duty all the time. Your Datsun should be exempt from the requirement because of its age. I believe it's only 1986 through 2005 model years that require the test anyway soundslikepuget commented about 1 year ago | Report 0 0 There are many neighborhoods in Seattle where the 3 day rule is strictly enforced, the U District for example. You *will* get a $38 ticket if your car isn't found on another block every 3 days on 11th Ave NE. As with parking your motorcycle on the sidewalk and many other laws, particularly related to parking, Seattle's enforcement is highly uneven and has several unwritten exceptions to the rule grandfathered in by tradition. Know your neighborhood. Talk to your neighbors. Observe the meter maids and the cops and learn what they are doing and not doing on your street.
