Love Semigood Furniture, But Can't Afford Their Stuff - Local Alternative?

Local design company Semigood makes beautiful furniture. Unfortunately, it's out of my price range. I'd prefer to avoid the big box stores, e.g., Crate and Barrel, and I don't want to buy disposable furniture.

Are there less expensive local alternatives that work in hard wood, are sustainable, and have an excellent sense of design?

    Some of my favorite pieces of furniture are from second-hand stores. Very sustainable (reusing is better than new low-impact materials), can be beautiful if you have time to look, and the stuff I've got is definitely not disposable--it's lasted me for many years.
