Has anyone ever used bottle caps to decorate a gate?

I saw one on a porch and can't remember where, but we've collected hundreds of bottle caps in the last couple days of binge drinking and are ready to put them to creative use. So if someone has done this crafty little project, please give me some tips. Thanks.

Two methods I'd suggest: First, if you want to improve the integrity of the bottle caps (which may be useful if you intend to make a mosaic) you need to make an insert between the cap and the wood for proper glueing. Thin-slat balsa wood should be perfect, easy to cut and should be about the perfect thickness. Get a decent amount of balsa and a bottle or two of gorilla glue. Make sure the gate is completely clean and dry, glue small cuts of balsa to the inside of the caps and then glue the caps to the gate.

Another method that I find to be more awesome after a season or two of weathering is nailing the caps to the gate. Go grab a box of thing/long nails from any hardware store. It will be harder if you are attempting a coherent design, but one a little dirt and rust sets in the effect is awesome.
