In Fritz Lang's 1941 film "Man Hunt", what is the piece of music that appears stenciled on the lamp shade in the German office in the film's beginningRe-released about the same time as "Valkrie" was, the DVD of "Man Hunt" (about a man who attempts to shoot Hitler with a hunting riffle)this is Fritz Lang's breakthrough anti-Nazi film. The framing and lighting is superb in many scenes (similar to "M") but the floor lamp in question is quite prominent in most shots in the Nazi office when Thorndike is questioned. It's clearly a tune written on a stanza. Can any music lovers share what the piece is? Is it notable? "Ride of the Valkries" or Wagner by any chance? |
