Best way to set up a webcomic site?

Hey, guys - I'm looking to start a webcomic that I am in the scripting and sketching stage on right now, and I was wondering if you had advice on setting up a website to host my comic.

Is it worth my learning Wordpress & Comicpress? Do either of you have any experience with that?

BTW, Matthew, The Oatmeal is awesome. One of your comics about working at home was a huge hit this past week with two friends of mine who work from their homes. I'm less familiar with Derek's stuff, though I liked what I've seen of it in the Stranger...

I don't have any experience with Webcomics, but I make and maintain both regular Web sites and blogs. So if this is all new to you, you should really go with a blog.

You can create a free blog at Wordpress.com. You can set it up as private, and figure it out yourself. When you are ready to go public, it is easy to change the settings.

There are many free templates available, and with a little searching, you will probably be able to find a few crafted for online comics.

And if you search "how to wordpress" in Youtube, there are a lot of step-by-step instructions.

Here are some examples of some terrific Webcomics that use WordPress.

I've only created websites using Dreamweaver, so that's the only way I know. I can relay the story of a friend who quit her job to pursue her love of film making and chose to show short clips on a website that she decided to code herself. She took two years to learn HTML and eventually got so frustrated that she went back to her old job.
