What is your favorite local beer?

By local, I mean the Pacific Northwest. The "favorite beer" question has already been asked, but it's time to drill down baby.

If you're ever up there, Boundary Bay brewery in Bellingham has some of the best microbrews in the northwest. My personal favorite is the dry irish stout but they are more well-known for their Blonde and I.P.A. The Taphouse on 5th carries several of their brews, Cyclops on 1st carries a brew called the "One Eye P.A." that is actually Boundary Bay and is delicious.

There are so many good beers around here it's hard to choose, but my default local beer of choice is always Mac & Jack's. Tasty, complex, filling and seems to be on tap just about everywhere I go.

Elysian. Most especially, the Jasmine IPA.

Boundary Bay scotch ale from Bellingham. Their oatmeal stout is good, too, but the scotch ale is much lighter, so you can enjoy more of it in one sitting.

    Elysian's Dragon's tooth stout.
Rich, deep, heavy, and a touch of coffee, and chocolate. Long finish, and deeply DEEPLY satisfying on a practically evangelical scale.

Or a nice sipping beer on a hot summer's afternoon.

Manny's is the trusty workhorse, Boundary Bay IPA is even better, mac n jacks is overrated (too bland and sugary).

Full Sail Bourbon Stout/Porter (it varies from year to year). I've had the 2006, a couple bottles of the 2008, and a couple of the 2009. My favorite beer ever.

And yes, it tastes like bourbon.

    Anything from Deschutes is great.

Do Vitamin R or Oly count anymore? Aren't they made in Philly? Not that they aren't tasty, but I'm just saying.

If you like IPAs, give Diamond Knot a try. Its up there with (and I think a little better than) Elysian and Boundary Bay.
