    That depends on the year...

I love Seattle in the Summer when one can go visit Alki, hike around Discovery, people-watch the awkward folk who forget what it's like not to wear cold/wetwear.

I love Seattle in the Fall when the leaves are changing and the familiar grayness settles in, when you can start to pick out the tourists and new settlers by who carries and umbrella.

I love Seattle in the Winter when everything shuts the hell down at the sight of a snowcloud. I love smelling the schnapps in everyones coffee and I love the occasional snowy day where urban snowfights and sledding breaks out as soon as the cars and busses shut down.

I love Seattle in the Spring when just as everyone forgets about the sun we get our first day over 55 degrees. The urban gardeners are quick to get their flowerpots out and you can begin to see the mountains on the horizon again.

I quite enjoy Seattle all year long.

However, Bellingham is still the tops.

Summer, for most people and for first-time visitors. The days are long, the weather is sunny and warm (well, not this year, but usually) and dry, there's a ton of festivals to enjoy and you can really take advantage of all the outdoor things the city has to offer.

Really depends on what type of activities you enjoy. The answers already posted are great!

I tend to love the fall and winter myself - there's so much to see with autumn harvest and grape crush for the huge wine industry east of the Cascade Mountains. (Washington State is 2nd in the nation for wine production and first in organic produce!)

I'm a snowboarder so thought I'd mention some of the new happenings: Crystal Mountain has a new Gondola this year to whisk you to the Summit in comfort. White Pass Ski Resort has doubled their land use (and it wasn't easy!) to create two new quad lifts and Snoqualmie Pass Ski Resort has added two new lifts to backcountry which was not accessible in the past.

Spring brings the blossoms in the orchards, as well as the incredible Skagit Valley Tulip Festival and summer - well there is nothing more beautiful than a sunny Washington State day!

Visit all seasons - we have something for everyone!

July, August, or September, usually. Although there are way more tourists then so hotels are more expensive. If you're looking off-season, April and May can often be good bets and are frankly, more representative of the sort of weather we get here--mild, but rainy, with intermittent sun.

Or...come in the winter if you're a big snowboarder or skier.

I've visited (passed through on my way to Vancouver) three times now, and I must say the late summer "has been berry berry good to me..."

Wish I could get off the bus and go explore the town, but staying at the Embassy Suites and arriving late by plane tends to limit my social life in Seattle. Maybe I can fix that next year...
