Oddly moldy bathroom?

l've been meaning to ask this question for a minute.

So when l returned from my recent trip, l discovered mold in both my bathroom sink and underneath the toilet seat. There's no mold anywhere else, and the windows are only a few years old and airtight, plus the kitchen sink and the rest of the apartment are fine. What would cause this?

You have standing water in your toilet tank and bowl, combine that with a low rate of air circulation in your bathroom (small space) and you'll get mold.
