Is anyone using Sprint's 4G service?

This question was already asked here, but that was 3 months ago. I assume more people are using it now, so I'd like to get some more feedback.

I just got an Evo phone with 4G. The phone itself is incredible, in my opinion. However, my 4G service has been pretty crappy. I live in Ballard/Greenwood and work in Interbay, and don't get more than "one bar" of 4G coverage in either place. It actually switches to 3G when it loses 4G, so it was constantly switching back and forth, and my battery life was horrible until I disabled 4G completely. I was downtown last week, and 4G worked well. 3G seems to be just fine everywhere, as it was with my previous phone.

Anyway, to make a long story short, I called Sprint to complain and attempted to opt out of the extra $10 per month I pay for 4G since I can't use it anywhere that I normally am. I suspected they wouldn't let me, and I was right, but figured it was worth a try and the only way to give them some feedback. They suggested that the problem might be with my phone, and not with the 4G network. I suspect that they are just blowing smoke up my ass and that everyone in my area with the same service is having the same problem. Who's right?

well, I'm probably not going to help you much since I was the one that answered the question a few months ago that you pointed out but the site I mentioned (http://www.clear.com/coverage) is still a pretty good guideline for 4G coverage. It is a little more generous than it should be but is a good rough estimate. I happen to live it one of the zones marked on the map that doesn't get 4G (and sure enough I don't get a signal from my house) but I've gotten great connectivity in many places around the GMA. I have not tried out my 4G in Ballard but do remember getting pretty good coverage near that SPU soccer field at Interbay. So, it is possible it is your phone or you are just in a bad zone. Check out the map to see if your specific areas are in the "grey areas"
