Snowboard boots for problem feet?

My feet are underpronated. That means my ankles roll out, and I tend to wear down the outside edge of the soles and heels on my shoes. Normally, not a big deal, but after a day of snowboarding it really hurts my feet and shins.

There are a variety of running shoe options for this condition, but what about snowboarding boots? Can anyone recommend a good brand? If not, can anyone recommend a shop where they'll know exactly what I'm talking about and be able to fit me with something suitable?

You might be able to compensate for this with your bindings, rather than the boots. I have large feet that normally would hang over the edge of my board and drag in the snow. Instead of dealing with the bad handling I would get with a wider board, I have plates installed under my bindings that lift them slightly so that my toes and heels don't drag. You could probably have a custom plate machined in a wedge shape that would correct for pronation. This would change the angle not just of the foot bed, but the brace of the binding as well, so it might not work perfectly, but it's a possibility. You could probably check it out by loosening the bolts on your binding, inserting temporary wedges, tightening the bolts, and strapping in.
