According to Bon Appetite Magazine Spinasse is one of the top 10 places in the Country to eat pasta.... Plus Stratton was named as a Best New Chef for 2010 by Food & Wine magazine so I recommend starting there!

    http://www.spinasse.com/

But do not expect it to say marinara on the menu. Look for Ragu or Bolognese sauce.

David Beckham ate there last week and "enjoyed chef Stratton’s Tagliatelle w/Pork, Tajarin w/Ragu, Tajarin w/Butter Sage, Duck Caramelle, and Rabbit Meatballs (no surprise, the duo skipped dessert)"
If it's good enough for that Soccer Star then i believe it's reservaton time Basil! Buon Appetitio!~

My favorite Italian Restaurant is Salvatore's. It doesn't seem to be super well known, I just happened to stumble upon it in college. It's the best Italian dishes I've ever had, including spaghetti. They always have amazing specials too. If they have the wild boar pasta, get it!

My vote goes to La Medusa in Columbia City. Their spaghetti with meatballs is the best I have had in Seattle.

It's a hike from Seattle but I like Isabella's in Covington.

    Also Vince's -- 4 locations including Renton.

Vince's is cool because it's definitely old school inside...checkered tablecloths, Sicilian statuary and a fountain.

Still, no Italian restaurants in Puget Sound seem to have canole on the dessert menu...which to me means foggetaboudit.

Cafe Lago in Montlake has amazing homemade pasta. I've had everything from their spaghetti to gnocci but their lasagne is so incredibly delicious I have a hard time ordering anything else every time I go there.

I'm a sucker for Beppo's. It may not be the best, but it works for me.
