What's the best snow route (via car/truck) for getting up Queen Anne hill?

I can always get up and down Capitol Hill even in the worst of snow using 12th, but what about Queen Anne?
aka what's your favorite alternative for the Counterbalance? Can't be super tight turns or teeny, narrow lanes, either.

Gilman heading up the west side of Queen Anne from 15th doesn't seem as steep as the other routes.

Don't do it. I live at the bottom of Queen Anne, and in the Snowpacalypse of 2008, I lost count of the vehicles I saw out of control on the hill. You'll end up sliding all the way down Queen Anne, or at least until you crash into an immovable object.

But if you decide to ignore my advice, use the routes cleared by the city. Mayor McGinn's office put up maps of streets that will plowed in the event of snow; you can find the map for Queen Anne here.

It looks like you could head up via Taylor or 10th, and cut across via McGraw and Boston.

Aurora to that exit by the Camlis maybe? Puts you up on the hill a bit. The only other way I can think of is 3rd Ave W off of Nickerson that, while still a hill, is not quite as steep as the others ... maybe.
