What's cat gut?

Can you still get a tennis racquet strung with cat gut? Is cat gut really the guts of a cat?

    It is used for suturing, musical instrument strings or apparently for tennis racquets.

    I understand it is in fact made from sheep intestines, or at least it was when my pa was using it to suture animals up.

    Wikipedia says you can still get a tennis racquet strung with it.
