What's the best winter-time bar in the city?

Anything within walking distance of the Seattle-U area would be preferred, but what are your favorite walk-in establishments during the snowy bits of winter and why?

The Hunt Club at the Sorrento Hotel, for the twelve drinks of Christmas and the decor.

I love the Canterbury on 15th for the fireplace and wicked-strong hot toddies. It would be a pleasant stroll from Seattle U.

I go for places with fire....right off the bat i think of Bastille, Matador and Shelter... but all are in Ballard, not exactl far from Seattle U...but alking distance, Hum?

Honestly, if it's supper cold and nasty the best place to be is at home!

The Elysian, with its big windows, is great for viewing snow storms and for catching what light there is.

But I like the challenge posed by your question, and see no reason why you don't make a project of touring all of these bars, especially if there's enough snow and you have cross country skis.

I like Bleu Bistro for their hot drinks... Hot Buttered Rum and Blueberry "Tea" especially. :-)

Maybe it's just because the first time I went there was last winter, but Still Liquor seems winter-y to me. It's nice and warm inside and the booths are cozy if you've got a nice group of friends.

I'm sorry--you asked a bar-related question without mentioning the TV programming you wanted to find. That doesn't make any sense.

Ditto on the Hunt Club. The Hideout's also cozy and just down the street.
