What is this spicy seed?

I received a collection of spices from a friend and there is one I can't immediately identify. I know I've seen it before, and I know that I know its name, and I also know that I'm going to feel like a fool when someone tells me.

Who's got the info I long fo'?

it's cardamom. you need to take the green outer "shell" off and use the little black seeds inside. Use a mortar and pestle or electric grinder. You can use it in savory dishes--think Indian food or you can use it in sweets--baked goods, etc. It is one of the main ingredients in chai and is extremely delicious in ice cream.

Green Cardamom. And it's Delicious!~ I personally like to toast my pods first. It makes the shells really easy to remove and also revives the essential oils of the seeds waking up the aromatic fragrant essence that is contained in these magical pods. Cardamom Whipped Cream is heavenly!

It's cardamom, all right. If you remove the husks and grind the seeds it loses flavor fast, so it's best to keep it like this. Grind the seeds as you need them.
