I can see any play/muscial I want for my birthday - what should I see?

Any time in the next couple months would be fine, anywhere in Seattle. I already have season tickets to Seattle Shakespeare Company for Christmas, and I want to avoid anything holiday themed like the plague. I am less interested in overly commercial, money-making behemoth, it just has to be something that promises to be good and recommended by people who know local theater.

    "Hair" at the Paramount. Fantastic.

Holiday-themed, but DEFINITELY not a traditional holiday story. Unless your holidays include whips, chains, cross-dressers, and Chinese Elvii.

Darn, you said "anywhere in Seattle". I was about to tell you to DEMAND to see "Madama Butterfly" at the Sydney Opera House, which would get you a trip to that lovely city in the bargain.
