Story about the afterlife

I think I heard this short story on CBC's Wiretap, or maybe on WNYC's Radio Lab... I heard it in the past two months or so.

Anyway the concept is that in the afterlife are all the other versions of you that could have been, based on all the choices you could have made and didn't: some of those selves are better, some are worse, etc.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about, or who might have written it?

It's a device that's been used in theatre and film more than once.

I recall one of them where this woman meets all her other selves, one of whom is a butch bikedyke, one of whom is a stuck up corporate lawyer type, one who's the boring housewife, one who's a freedomfighter, and so on. If I recall, the butch biker and one of the others runs off together on a sort of thelma & louise style love story/road movie subplot.

I'll keep dredging my mind for the name of it... Was this the story you're thinking of?
