I'm a fairly slow reader too, but I do have a lot of time on my hands that I don't use productively. Anyway, I did start "The Instructions" and I'm about 340 pages in which is kind of like a miracle for me. I don't know if I've ever actually read one book so long! lol I know, pathetic, but I'm completely intimidated by huge-ass books. But, I got this with Indiespensable too, and I was like, okay, I'm going to try to tackle this thing if it keeps me interested at all.

It is a weird book, a lot more concerned with religion than I would normally read, because I'm not religious and I don't really understand it all, but still...I like it so far. Even though I know nadda about religion, he writes so you can get the story without knowing jack. Probably is better if you know religious stuff though.

It does have a bit of Holden Caufield-esque about it, but it is not a copy of that by any means. I am just hoping the middle and ending don't disappoint, because that is a LOT to read just to be disappointed!

I guess that is why I was kind of wondering what people thought, because I don't want to get to the end and be like "oy! that totally sucks!!! WTF did I waste all that time reading?!?" lol

At first I thought the book was a bit manic, and I was like: whoa!, but then I got used to it or something.

Since we both read slow, you should start reading and give updates about whether or not you like it! lol Anyway, sorry this answer is so long, but it will give you practice for the book if you do read this whole blubbering mess. hahaha. Not that I write as well as the author, just that it and this are long! haha
