Who makes nice, grown-up, flattering underwear for men? And where do you get it?

What do you wear when you've moved past boxers with cartoon characters on them? Boxer briefs? Anyone know of any good ones that aren't crazy expensive?

Through trial and error, I strongly recommend the Gap and Old Navy brand boxer briefs. Seriously, they seem to last forever, they typically come in nice colors, they don't cost a ton, and they look nice on Mr. Squirrel (who, like your man, has some junk in his trunk).

I will second the boxer-briefs at the Gap. It is one of their best items. If you are ready to spend a bit more, go to Macy's and check out the Hugo Boss boxer-briefs. They are the best undies around. (my husband exclusively wears Hugo Boss boxer-briefs and the tees are amazing) The boutique stores are for date-night underwear or those with money to burn.

There's a nice men's underwear boutique on Broadway and Roy...I think it's called UnderU4Men. I don't know the technical name for them, but I like the type of men's underwear that's shorter than a boxer brief but not quite whitey tighties....

There's this great group of folks down in Portland that do an underwear of the month club: http://www.recessionclothing.com/store/uotm/underwear-month-mens

My hubby has a pair of their undees and lurves them. They have extra *ahem* room sewn into the front of them, and look super hot on him.

You don't have to do the monthly undees, you can call them and get a single pair. They come up to Seattle for some festivals, and that's where he got his pair.

As a man who made this transition a few years ago, I recommend the boxer brief or trunk. They are comfortable and form fitting without the tighty whities stigma or discomfort. You can get them in a range of colors and styles.

I found the Calvin Klein's are great out of the package but wear out quickly. I've recently been fond of more athletic underwear and am very happy with Reebok's boxer briefs. And they are very reasonably priced.

As you might guess, this will really depend on how the brand fits the man. It will take a little experimentation to get it right, but it sounds like you are on the right track.
