What is your favorite Christmas movie?

My best friend loves Die Hard. I have a soft spot for the traditional, It's a Wonderful Life. What do you watch?

These are some answers I got a few weeks back...

I, too, am a big fan of It's A Wonderful Life (although when its on tv, I always miss everything before the main 'bridge' scene).
More recently, I really loved Elf with Zooey Deschanel/Will Ferrel; it has the prerequisite heavy dose of sentimentality, but I thought was cleverly put together.

Well, the Christmas movie is a classic. My favorite Christmas show, though not a movie, is Charlie Brown Christmas. It never feels like Christmas until I see it...

Oh come on... I can't believe no one has mentioned the modern classic, "A Christmas Story" starring Darin McGavin and Peter Bingsham (SP?) based upon the writings and with the narration of Jean Sheppard.

We discovered this on cable back in the 1980s and now it seems that WTBS is running 24 hours of it throughout every Christmas holiday.

Everyone thinks it's their private discovery, but it's really by the same guy who brought us "Porky's"!

    It's A Wonderful Life

If you've never seen it, it's actually kind of funny. Being in the here and now 2010 modern times, watching a movie set in the depression that was filmed in 1946.

Alastair's Sim "A Christmas Carol" (aka "Scrooge" in the UK).

The only film version of Dickens's work that's worth watching.

I definitely agree with Die Hard and White Christmas. It's not the holidays with either. In the realm of TV specials, I love Muppet Family Christmas, where Kermit & the gang spend Christmas with Fozzie's mom.

Die Hard and Gremlins for Mr. Griffin, but I always watch White Christmas when I can. Actual talent!
