Homemade Kahlua recipe with vodka and real coffee?

I want to make Kahlua, but most of the recipes I've seen use instant coffee, and many rely on Everclear, rather than standard-strength vodka. Does anyone have a good recipe that will let me use good, fresh-ground coffee? I've got an espresso machine (or an Aeropress) that I can use to brew very strong fresh coffee, but I'm also interested in steeping ground coffee directly in vodka (along with sugar and vanilla) for however long it takes. Do you folks have any tried-and-tested recipes?

I've done coffee liqueur with double-strength espresso brewed in a French Press. Added vodka, sugar and a vanilla bean, stored it for a few months and then strained it through a cheesecloth to get the press sediment out of the finished product. It was really delightful. Next time I'm going to brew the coffee Turkish style (ground as fine as dust and boiled and cooled with the water and sugar several times) and then add the vodka, vanilla bean and more sugar to see how that compares.

As for amounts, you should find plenty of those around the 'net.

Here's a very simple recipe I am fond of:

    6 cups sugar
    6 cups water
    20 tsp instant coffee
    1/2 gallon vodka
    12 tsp pure vanilla

Mix sugar, water, coffee together and bring to slow boil. Turn heat down and simmer 1 hour. Remove heat, cover liquid with plastic wrap. Let sit for 12 hours, then remove wrap.

Add vodka and vanilla, stir well. You can drink it immediately.

    Enjoy!
