The DVD soundtrack of "Life" is different than the original - why?

In the 2nd series of "Life" (the one with Damian Lewis) there is an episode called "Badge Bunny". When it originally aired on TV one of the songs used was "Little Toy Gun" by Honeyhoney. Great song, worked really well with the plot.
Then, when I watched it again on DVD I was disappointed to find that Little Toy Gun was replaced by some other, pretty blah, music.
Why would they change the soundtrack?

I don't know the specifics of this, but this is almost always a result of failure to secure rights clearance. The original clearance was probably for broadcast rights only, as is typical, and when they went back to clear the rights for DVD release, which is a whole 'nuther thing, with new fees and royalties, the artist wanted too much money, or didn't want to do it at all for some reason.
