Eltana is indeed really, really good. But so is Bagel Oasis. They are very different though. Eltana has the wood-fired thing going on, and Oasis is your standard boiled then baked workhorse bagel.
We are so lucky to have this choice. Things are looking up, Seattle!

There is never any need to ingest something from Noah's "Bagels."

I was very impressed with the first bagel I had at the new Eltana Wood-Fired Bagels at 12th and Pine. Chewy, not at all muffin-like. I was in a rush and didn't even have a chance to have one toasted, but I'll definitely be back.

As it happens, I am at Eltana Wood Fired Bagels now, and believe me these are real bagels - an absolute rarity around here. Delish. EWFB is also a comfortable, attractive new place to hang out with communal wood tables, free wifi and lots of light. I Iike it.

Have to agree with George on this one, I havent had a decent Bagel since I left the East Coast...And I would kill for a good Bialy!!

    I'll second Bagel Oasis.

A far less known bagel place that I think is quite excellent is this place: http://www.yelp.com/biz/seattle-bagel-bakery-seattle-3

Their bagels are really good, not up to Oasis standards, but far better than most bagels I've had in Seattle. What's more, it's a real, old-school, urban bagel shop complete with reasonable prices and urns of coffee.

Sweet and Savory's bagels are some of the best I've had in Seattle. Also great pain au chocolat and other breakfast pastry.

Eltana hands down! It's a real Montreal Bagel which beats the heck out of a real NY bagel any day. It is a refined tasty bagel unlike the doughy mammoth things that are a poor excuse for a bagel.

For the uninitiated, a Montreal bagel is a different beast, much smaller and thinner and it only needs to be toasted with butter to be a gourmet experience.

Thank you so much Eltana for bringing this great food experience to Seattle.

I am going with Bagel Oasis, I found the atmosphere at Eltana to be awesome but was not a fan of their "sweet" dough they use. I was dying with anticipation before they opened but am sad to say not a fan : (

I hear Blazing Bagels is great....but that requires a drive to the east side...and i heard there is a new Delicatessen that is going to be opening on Mercer Island...so let's keep our fingers crossed someday Seattle area will be able to represent for all the bagel lovers!
