Can I get some good pozole already?

Bethany already asked where to get good soup in general. I wanna know where to get pozole (posole, to some folks). I've had a lot of mediocre or bad excuses for pozole (Taqueria Tequila, Barrio, La Carta de Oaxaca), but have yet to find anything wonderful. Can you find me some? Bonus points if the restaurant/stand/magnanimous mom's house serves delightful menudo as well.

Seriously? My kitchen. I can't stand anyone's posole but my own, which is really my dad's recipe, and I gotta say that this year's first batch using stew pork from Rain Shadow Meats was ethereal. I'll let you know when I make another 5 gallons of it ;)

The best I've ever had was in, of all places, a Microsoft cafeteria. I asked the head chef about it, because I'd never seen it on the menu before. Apparently it was a family recipe from one of the line cooks. I thought it was pretty great that they had enough leeway with the menu to do that.

Sadly, I no longer work there, so I won't be having that pozole any time soon.

at one point, the nice folks at el asadero (aka 'the taco bus' on rainer) was serving pozole...and it is good. really good with a trotter included! you might want to check them out.

alternately, there is vuelve a la vida in tacoma which is killer with everything they make. i don't tthink la carta de oaxaca is all that bad.

Rancho Bravo has inordinately greasy but still very satisfying pozole for super cheap. It comes with tortillas/onion/cilantro/radish so you can make taco-type things with the giant chunks of meat in it. Did I mention greasy? But good once in a while. Like maybe now.

La Mixteca Del Norte in South Everett, on E Casino Road just west of Evergreen.

Taqueria El Sabor in Shoreline, on the west side of Aurora just south of Sears/Central Market.

Taqueria La Estacion in Burien, 148th and Ambaum. On the weekend there's a guy singing and playing guitar.
