I always enjoy the guest experts who come on this site to answer questions about their field You know what would be rad? If we could get a pilot on here to answer some questions about flying.

While this isn't a direct answer to your question (and sends you elsewhere - sorry mods!), I would point out that Patrick Smith's 'Ask the Pilot' column can be very informative (though not all the time) - and he seems to answer reader questions in a lot of columns.

Perhaps something to note if no-one can hook Qland up with a guest expert...

No, a professional pilot would never comment on that online. It's the "appearance of impropriety." But I would like to ask some questions about Boeing vs Airbus, I've heard pilots prefer Boeing because they will accept control inputs outside the pre-determined operational envelope. On a Boeing the computer will warn you that it disagrees, but allow the human pilot to make the ultimate decision. Airbus planes let the computer override the pilot, I've heard.

That kind of stuff is what I'd like to pick a pilot's brain about.

The booze question would be nice to hear some expert advice on as well, but it is not something I would expect a professional aviator to comment on publicly.
