Why can't I get an Orca bus pass for my son online?

I can purchase my own easily online but in order to get my son one, I have to take proof of age to a Metro/Orca sales office -- a huge hassle. Seems like a poor way to get people to do something other than drive.

I think you can mail in an order form for a youth ORCA card, but you'll need to submit a copy of his I.D. along with it. Still a bit of a hassle, but maybe not as bad as going there in person.

I suppose they could just stop offering discounts to minors, seniors and the disabled. As long as they do offer those discounts, though, they need to verify eligibility or else every able-bodied 30 year old with no sense of shame will sign up for the cheaper pass.

If it's really that much of a hassle just buy him an adult card.
