Know any good books or websites to help a new step-parent understand role with the kids?

I've got a friend who recently married a man with two great kids, who have a great mother. My friend is game to jump in and help shuttle kids, attend school meetings, whatever to be a resource a loving adult to the kids, whom she adores. But she also doesn't want to overstep. Are there any resources our their to help "bonus" moms and dads negotiate their role?

    yes,you can refer any good books or website relating to the information about the mentality of the kids.
