It's been almost eight years, but I still get compliments on our wedding/reception: we held it at the Seattle Aquarium. Ceremony was on the back of the pier at sunset, the reception was primarily held in the tide pool room, and the DJ set up the dance floor in the underwater dome, but music was also piped in to the tide pool room. We had a lot of family and friends with kids attending, and the aquarium provided staff at the tide pools to talk to guests about the animals.

There are SO many amazing reception venues in Seattle! I'm happy to suggest a venue for you - but first a few questions. How many guests will you be having? Is there anything important that you are looking for?? (water view, in city, out of city, parking?)

Here are a couple of great websites with many options/suggestions for you - Junebug Weddings :: http://junebugweddings.com/ and MyCityWedding.com http://myseattlewedding.com/

    I hope this was helpful!!

Hi Shannon, I could list fifty great Seattle venues here that are all accustomed to hosting a DJ, most a live band, but whether it works for you will depend more on the kind of vibe you're going for with the wedding (rustic/natural, elegant, modern, etc) and what your logistical requirements are (guest capacity, ability to bring in own alcohol/food, etc.).

Both Seattle Metropolitan Bride & Groom and Seattle Bride have online vendor listings that provide detailed venue info. I'm happy to help you narrow it down a bit based on the feel you're going for.

Off the top of my head, here are some places where I've shot receptions that have hosted a band:

    The Ruins
    Crocodile Cafe (yup, the Croc!)
    The Georgetown Ballroom
    Pravda Studios
    Seattle Art Museum Sculpture Park
    Pan Pacific Hotel
    Corson Building (smaller weddings)

I totally recommend checking out Utina Wardroom-- http://www.utinawardroom.com/

It's the new event space of The City Catering Company and a fantastic venue for a smaller (less than 100) crowd.
